Participant check-in and event activities open at 8:00 AM. The welcome, Pause for Peace message and warm-up begin at 8:45 AM, timed runners start at 9:10 AM, and the general MKE5K Walk/Run begins at 9:15 AM. We recommend arriving early so you have plenty of time to check in, get settled and enjoy the morning.

Check-in and the MKE5K start are located at the corner of Garfield Avenue & Vel R. Phillips Avenue in Milwaukee's Bronzeville neighborhood.

Yes! Free event parking is available at the ThriveOn King Parking Garage, located at the corner of Vel R. Phillips Avenue & Lloyd Street. Enter the garage from Lloyd Street.

Registration includes entry into the 2026 MKE5K Men’s Walk/Run, a participant bag with MKE5K and community giveaways, an MKE5K bandana, and access to event-day wellness activities, community resources, music, basketball and refreshments.
MKE5K shirts are available in limited quantities and are not guaranteed with registration. Volunteers and event staff receive priority, and remaining shirts will be distributed to participants while supplies last. Early arrival is encouraged.

ItYes! During registration, choose Create a Team to start a team or Join a Team if you're joining an existing one. Each person registers individually for the MKE5K. Team members should enter the exact same team name when registering so we can keep your crew together.

Absolutely. The MKE5K is a community walk/run designed for different ages, abilities and paces. You can run for a time, jog, walk with your family or move at whatever pace works for you.
A timed runner start will take place at 9:10 AM, followed by the general walk/run at 9:15 AM.

Yes! The MKE5K welcomes children and families. Participants under age 18 must have their registration and participant agreement completed by a parent or legal guardian.

Yes. Water will be available along the course and additional hydration and refreshments will be available during the event.

Yes. Restrooms will be available for participants during the event.

Yes! There are several ways to get involved with the 2026 MKE5K.
Community organizations, wellness providers and businesses can participate as vendors or community partners, and volunteers are needed throughout the event for check-in, water stations, participant support, activities, setup, cleanup and more.

Yes. This is event is rain or shine.

The MKE5K is a community walk/run rather than a certified competitive race. A designated timed-runner start will be available for participants who would like their finish time recorded, followed by the general community walk/run.
